2006 New York Walk For A Cure Photo Gallery!

The 2006 Walk For A Cure was a huge success! In addition, this year a "Ventura California Walk for a Cure" was held to coincide with the New York walk. The Ventura walk was an alternate location for those who were closer to the west coast and not able to travel to New York.

Thank you to everyone who participated and supported our efforts on both coasts!

Walk For a Cure

More and more, people are realizing the tremendous power of working together to find a cure for GIST.  Stay tuned to this website to learn more about the next walk and other events.

The annual GIST Walk for A Cure event takes place every October in Rockland State Park in Congers NY. Each year the walk helps raise more money towards advances in the field of GIST research. From expanding clinical trials and genomic research to simply increasing awareness of GIST, the walk is our primary method for raising funds.

The mission of the walk at first was to raise funds for research and increase awareness of this rare and devastating form of cancer. Over the years, the annual walk has become an event that connects patients, caregivers and family members with one another in a way none of us had imagined.

We would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you who has donated, travelled to attend the walk or suppported a loved one who has GIST.
